Professional Stills and Motion photographer

Ross Stansfield, has in his 30 year career, been a studio stills photographer shooting for clients such as Coca Cola, Marriott, SAIC, American Woodmark, The VA, Regency Furniture, Ted Britt Ford, Vie De France, Odin Technologies and many others. The coffee table book ” Alexandria a Pictorial History” was written by Karen Harvey and Ross supervised the acquisition of archival shots and shot the majority of new photos.

Ross has also been involved in motion picture production since 1990, as a Director, Producer, DP and Editor creating TV spots, commercial films , short films, music videos and a documentary on Raymond Loewy currently showing at the O. Winston Link Museum in Roanoke, Va.

Recently Ross produced a film for the VA illustrating the construction of a interactive display using timelapse and HD video.
He also was the producer for a three camera shoot working with Forest Whitaker at the National Portrait Gallery, where twenty interviews were acquired during the “Black List” reception sponsored by AT&T.

Ross created the set and lit four PSA recordings of Colin Powell. His son Brian was the DP and filmed on the Arri Alexa.
He worked for Allied Media in 2009 on the 2010 Census, as the Producer, where he found and hired some Top Tier local companies to execute the requirements for this project.
In 1994 he directed with Philip Brooks the production of the 16 mm film “Omnifax” written by Jean Laurence that won a Telly Award.
Ross directed and produced “Night Songs” a music video shot at the Bayou in Georgetown (now Loew’s Theatre) this was produced on 16mm and edited at The Post Group in LA.

Recently Ross has lit and provided production support for three short films for Sizzle Entertainment and a new spot for VS the Brain “Razoo” and several projects for Wandering Hat productions including films shot in California for the National Guard, a music video shot in Va on the Red and lighting the top five film “The Seer” shot with Canon 7D in the “Beyond the Stills” contest. Recently he has lit films for SAIC regarding women Marine’s, and “A Social Network” working with Greg Berger and Capitol Communicator. Ross is currently working on several projects for the VA shooting stills and motion and also was lighting director on several short films produced by students at CDIA, where he is an instructor in the film department.
